Athletes, Anxiety & Mental Strength: Meet Kaitlyn Sampson

Hi friend,

Have you ever watched an athlete freeze under pressure and wondered, what just happened? Or maybe your own teen is excelling in sports but struggling silently behind the scenes?

This week on the podcast, I had the absolute joy of chatting with someone who understands both the physical and mental side of athletic performance—Kaitlyn Sampson, founder of Mental Health Booster.

Kaitlyn is a licensed professional counselor and a high school cheerleading coach. She’s taken her love of sports and her passion for mental health and created something truly powerful for athletes, teens, and young adults.

We talked about:

  • The invisible pressure many student-athletes carry
  • How performance anxiety, perfectionism, and parental expectations show up in sports
  • The difference between coaching and counseling—and when teens need which
  • How Kaitlyn uses mental health tools on the field to help athletes play better and live better

If you're a parent, coach, or educator who wants to support the whole child—not just their stats or grades—this is a must-listen.

📲 And make sure to follow Kaitlyn on Instagram at @MentalHealthBooster

Let’s raise a generation of young people who know how to handle pressure, advocate for themselves, and love who they are—on and off the field.

Warmly,
Cynthia

Hi there, What would you do if your child told you something that scared you? Not because they’d done anything wrong — but because you didn’t understand… and you were terrified of how the world might treat them. That’s exactly where Dr. Lulu found herself. In this week’s episode, I sat down with Dr. Lulu — a pediatrician, parent coach, gender and sexuality educator, and a proud mom of a transgender child. But her story isn’t neat and tidy. She didn’t always respond with the understanding and...
